Interview with general Romeo Vasquez

El Heraldo has published an interview in two parts with general Romeo Vasquez Velasquez in Honduras. He explains the process that lead up to the Supreme Court ordering the military to arrest president Zelaya.

The military, during 30 days, tried to find a legal solution that would allow them to comply with an order from the president, but they were unsuccessful. What Vasquez would not speak about though, is the removal of Zelaya from the country, since there is an on-going court case, and, as he said, the judges are the ones who should be the first to hear the facts of the matter as it relates to national security.
